OVER CURRENT AND EARTH FAULT PROTECTION FOR GENERATORS

The over current and earth fault protection is same as the over current and earth fault protection of transformers which will be discussed later. Fig 6 shows the over current and earth fault protection scheme for generators.

Dear Sir,
I think this circuit diagram is incomplete. If any coil from c.t. or relay is open circuit, then circuit can not provide any protection.
For example-If Earth relay coil is open circuit, tripping shall not occurred,no protection shall offer.
In such case C.B.MUST NOT be close, more protective circuit is required.

Please guide me.

Thanks & Regards,
Prashant S. Phansekar
